Willa Gibbs is a gifted, accomplished writer, researcher and author.
This is my personal search for a talented, underrated, poetically beautiful writer and a truly remarkable woman.
I could find very little information on Miss Gibbs and her novels.
It is my mission to scour the internet, archives and all available sources, to compile every possible shred of information.
If you have any additional information on Miss Gibbs, please feel free to contact me.

This article confuses me. Is this Estella Harris Gibbs? If so, who is daughter Julia?

Willa's Mother, Estella Gertrude Gibbs 1888-1967 Wedding

Willa dedicated her first book, Tell Your Sons, to her mother: "To Stella: My Mother and Friend". They must have been very close as Willa's father, Guy Vernon Gibbs died when she was only 2 years old.
Estella G. Harris was born April 23, 1888 in Tulare, California to Luella Elizabeth Woody Harris. I've been unable to locate the name of her father, who died prior to 1900.

Newly Married Pair
"In the presence of more than sixty guests Miss Stella Harris and Guy V. Gibbs were wedded Sunday morning at the Christian church, Rev. W. E. Bobbitt officiating immediately afterward the bride and groom left for Davis, where they boarded the train for San Francisco.
After a brief honeymoon spent visiting in the bay cities, Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs will go to Winters, where a cozy cottage awaits their arrival.
Although the ceremony was delightfully plain, it was one of the most attractive church weddings ever solemnized hereabouts.
The bride was charming in a novelty going-away suit of tan with Bulgarian trimmings and large hat to match. She carried a bouquet of lillies of the valley. She was attended by Mrs. Wilford Martin, herself a bride but a few weeks. Mrs. Martin wore a light blue suit with hat to match. She carried pale pink carnations.
The groom was dressed in the conventional black and was attended by Wilford Martin, who was attired similarly.
Lohengrins wedding march was rendered by Beverly Coil, pianist and Mrs. Eva Bautin, violinist.
Mrs. Thelma Gregory, whose engagement to Paul Morris Grant was announced last week, and Miss Esther Crutcher, sorority sisters of the bride, and the Misses Virginia and Billie Gensoul were the ushers.
Shasta Daisies and ferns were conspicuous in the decorative scheme. The Beta Gamma Kappa girls were responsible for the tasteful manner in which the flowers and greens were arranged.
The wedding itself marks the culmination of a rare friendship that sprang up between them two years ago, when the bride was a teacher in the primary department and the groom was the principal at Guinda schools.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Luella Harris. She was reared and educated on this community, having served her last term in the Woodland Department. She is a member of the Beta Gamma Kappa sorority and is a favorite with a her acquaintances.
The groom is a lawyer. He is the son of Mrs. Della N. Gibbs. He was recently chosen to be city attorney at Winters. He attended the Woodland high school and the law department of the University of Southern Cal. He is a Carlton Club member and has hosts of friends in this community.
